The breakdown of a relationship can be traumatic and emotional, and you can feel totally lost and not know what to do. Issues such as who will look after the children, when will they see their mum/dad, where will they live ? etc need to be considered.

Can you cope financially ? What are you entitled to from the marriage/ relationship ? What will you have to pay your ex ? Or what should they be paying you ? What about the school fees ? Will we have to sell the house ? What about my pension ?

Whether you are married, or live together, such questions abound when you separate from your partner. The answers are not always straight forward, and you will have lots to consider, and choices to make.

You do not have to end up battling in Court, and agreements reached by attending mediation or by adopting the Collaborative practice are recognised as preferable to litigation based outcomes.
